Brentin, this is an endurance challenge. How long are you willing to spend blogging for Immunity?
You and all the other players will be using the "blog by email" option from Blogger.com. You will send emails to the address below (which will be posted to your blog) 6 times per hour - once every 10 minute block. For example, one post in the 10's, one post in the 20's, one post in the 30's, and so on... You posts can be as early or as late as you want within their 10-minute range, but be careful! Blogger rounds posting times to the nearest minute, and has a short processing time before you post appears on your blog, so I wouldn't recommend sending your post at the end of a 10 minute block. But it would be perfectly OK if one entry is posted at 7:19 and the next one at 7:20 - those posts cover both the 10's and the 20's, so your next post could be posted as late at 7:39 to be counted for the 30's.
But beware! ONE missed post and your challenge is over! Also, you are not allowed to post twice in the same 10-minute range - for example, posting for the 10's at 7:18 and accidentally posting too early for the 20's at 7:19. If this occurs, the first mistake will be ignored and you can continue with the challenge (the incorrect posting does NOT count - in this example, you would still need to post for the 20's). However, you must still send your official posting for the 20's correctly. If you double post a second time, your game is over.
Players do not have to start at the same time. Instead, the player who spends the longest time blogging, from their first post to their last post, wins Immunity from Tribal Council. If more than one player happens to be playing at the same time, you are welcome to follow eachother's progress by viewing their blog and sending comments, chatting, etc...
Due to the nature of this challenge, there is no deadline. However, all players must BEGIN blogging no later than 11:00 AM Pacific Time on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008. The challenge will continue until all players have finished blogging or until there is a clear winner. And remember, each player's time is from their first post to their last post, regardless of when a player starts and completes this challenge.
Now, here's how to post:
You will send an email to:
vjp+brentin+SubmissionPassword+immunity+blog@virtualsurvivor.net
(Obviously, you will replace "SubmissionPassword" with your Submission Password - NOT your access or personal passwords, or else the post will not find its way to your blog.)
Don't forget to include all "+" signs. Each player is allowed to send ONE test email just to make sure their blog is working properly, as long as you clearly mark the email as "Test" or "Practice" (or something similar) in the Subject Line or in the body of the email. Try it now! All emails MUST come from your VirtualSurvivor.net email account. After you send your test email, wait a few moments and refresh this blog page. You should see your post appear at the top of the list. If you don't see it, wait a few more moments and refresh the page again. You will also receive an email receipt of your posting, but the receipts sometimes take several minutes to arrive, so always check the blog page first before sending a duplicate email.
Once your test email goes through, you can now come back when you are ready for the long haul. You do not have to start this challenge right away, but once you officially begin, you only have one chance. For your official postings, your emails can contain your thoughts and feelings, photos and videos (up to 10 MB per email - just add attachments to your emails), or even blank!! The only thing that matters is the Blogger time stamp on your blog entries.
If you have any questions, please contact Virtual Jeff Probst BEFORE beginning the challenge so he can answer any questions you might have before you begin.
Good luck! Survivors ready? GO!!!
